Questions about Filmlume

The basics

What is Filmlume?

Filmlume is an AI video generator and short-film maker. You describe what you want in a few sentences and it makes an image, a single moving shot, or a whole short film with several scenes, consistent characters, narration, dialogue and sound. You see the plan and the exact price before anything is made.

How do I make a video with AI on Filmlume?

Create a free account, choose Image, Quick video or Story video, and write what should happen. Pick a quality, the sound you want and a speed, check the price, and press Generate. Videos usually take a few minutes; you can follow the progress and download the MP4 when it is ready.

Do I need video editing skills?

No. Filmlume plans the scenes, draws each one, animates them, adds the sound and joins everything into one video file. You can review and edit the plan in plain words before it renders, but you never need an editor or a timeline.

Is there a free trial?

Every new account gets a small free credit, enough to try images and a short video. After that you buy credit packs; there is no subscription.

What makes Filmlume different from other AI video generators?

Three things: long films (Story videos up to 10 minutes, where most tools stop at a few seconds), low prices with no subscription (you see the exact price first and failed runs are refunded), and high quality up to 1080p with consistent characters, lip-synced dialogue, narration and sound.

How do I contact Filmlume support?

Email support@filmlume.com or filmlumesupport@gmail.com, or use the contact page. A person answers, usually within one working day.

What can I make with Filmlume?

Short films and stories, product videos, social media reels and shorts, trailers, explainer scenes, music-free mood pieces, animated photos, concept art and posters. Anything you can describe in a few sentences, as long as it follows the content policy.

Making videos

What is the difference between Quick video and Story video?

Quick video turns one image (your photo, or one Filmlume draws from your words) into a single continuous moving shot of up to a minute. Story video is a short film of up to ten minutes: Filmlume writes a plan of scenes, keeps your characters and places consistent from scene to scene, adds sound, and joins it all together.

Can I turn a photo into a video?

Yes. In Quick video, upload a photo as the starting image and describe how it should move: a slow push-in, the wind in the trees, a person turning to the camera. Filmlume animates it into a video clip.

Can I make a video from text only (text to video)?

Yes. Story video starts from text alone, and Quick video can draw its own starting image from your description. You never have to upload anything.

How long can my AI video be?

Quick videos can be up to 60 seconds. Story videos can be up to 10 minutes, made of many scenes. Longer videos cost more and take longer to render; the price and wait are shown before you start.

What video quality and sizes are available?

Three qualities: Economy (480p), HD (720p) and Cinematic (1080p). Three shapes: landscape 16:9 for YouTube and presentations, portrait 9:16 for Reels, TikTok and Shorts, and square 1:1 for posts.

Does Filmlume support 4K video?

4K is coming soon. Today you can choose Economy (480p), HD (720p) or Cinematic (1080p).

Can I keep the same character in every scene?

Yes. Add a photo of each person, pet or product in your cast and give it a name, then mention them with @name in your story. Filmlume keeps them looking like themselves in every scene. Characters you do not upload are designed once and kept consistent too.

Can I review and change the story before it renders?

Yes. For Story videos you can read the plan first: every scene, who is in it, what is said and what you will hear, with the exact price. Edit any scene or line, then generate. Planning is free.

How long does it take to make a video?

An image takes seconds. A short Quick video usually takes one to five minutes. A Story video takes from a few minutes to around half an hour for the longest ones. Each option shows its expected wait, and a Fast option is offered when it is meaningfully quicker.

Sound, voices and dialogue

Does Filmlume add sound and voice-over?

Yes. Videos can have the sound of each place (rain, traffic, a busy kitchen), a narrator reading a voice-over timed to each scene, and characters speaking on camera with their lips matched to the words. You choose who speaks: no one, a narrator, the characters, or both.

Can characters talk on camera?

Yes. Choose characters as the speakers: Filmlume films them talking on camera and gives each character their own voice. You can switch any line to the narrator before you generate.

Can I use my own voice or clone a voice?

No. Voices come from Filmlume’s own library of synthetic voices, matched to each character. Filmlume does not clone anyone’s voice.

Does Filmlume add background music?

Not yet. Videos have sound effects, room tone, narration and dialogue, but no music track. You can add music in any editor after downloading.

Price and credits

How much does an AI video cost on Filmlume?

It depends on the length, quality, sound and speed. A 5-second video with sound starts at well under a dollar, and an image costs about a cent. The pricing page shows today’s prices, and the form always shows the exact price before you press Generate.

Do I get free or bonus credit?

Yes. New accounts start with free credit, and bigger credit packs come with bonus credit on top (shown on the pricing and credits pages).

Can I invite a friend?

Yes. Your invite link is on the Credits page. When a friend signs up with it and makes their first top-up of $10 or more, you both get 10% of that top-up as free credit. It counts once per friend.

Is Filmlume a subscription?

No. You buy credit packs ($5, $10 or $25) and each video takes its price from your credits. Credits do not expire.

What happens if a video fails?

If a run fails, its credits are returned automatically, straight away. You only pay for videos that are made.

Can I see what I have spent?

Yes. The Usage page shows what you spent by day, by type and by quality, and every run with its price. The Credits page lists every change to your balance.

Which payment methods are accepted?

Cards and the local payment methods offered at checkout in your country. Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, our reseller, which also adds VAT or sales tax where it applies.

Can I get a refund?

Unused purchased credits can be refunded within 14 days. Failed runs are refunded automatically in credits. See the refund policy for details.

Rights, safety and privacy

Can I use Filmlume videos commercially?

Yes. As between you and us, you own the images and videos you make and can use them commercially, for example in ads, client work or on monetised channels, as long as you follow the terms and the content policy.

Is there a watermark?

No. Downloads are clean MP4 video and image files without a watermark.

Can I put real people in my videos?

Only yourself, or people who have agreed to it. Public figures, celebrities and politicians are not allowed, and nothing may be made to look like a real person said or did something they did not. Sexual content is never allowed.

Are my photos and videos private?

Where do I download my videos?

Every finished video and image is in your library. Open it and press Download to save the MP4 or image file.
